Workshops

Following the successful launch of the Designed Pilates workshops, there will be an ongoing workshop programme enabling you to delve deeper into your Pilates practice, focus on different parts of the body, use different equipment and also have a lot of fun along the way.

Enhance your Pilates knowledge

The half day workshops are a balance of both educational and practical content, mixing movement with knowledge about Pilates and discovering more about your body.

The half day is split into a number of sessions, covering key topics and there will be drinks and snacks provided during the session.

In this workshop we will cover off the below. All these topics are areas I explored in recent training and as part of the International Pilates conference in Poland I attended, back in October 2025 :

  • – Before the 100 – Developed by Kathy Grant, who studied under Joseph Pilates, we look at ways to prepare the body to move before we get into the main body of our sessions. ‘Before the 100’ is linked to the ‘hundred’ being the first exercise in the classical 34 flow of Pilates exercises.

– Exercise: What It Is, What It Does – A book written by Carola Trier, intended for children, is a Pilates book written in 1982 and explores Pilates based on fun, functional and natural movements. Written for children, but for EVERYbody. This was my favourite session at the Pilates conference so I’ll be bringing the fun and challenging movements to the group, often working in pairs.

– Large Equipment Circuit – using the large classical Pilates equipment to create a circuit style class, full of movement and challenges. You’ll get to work on the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Tower and the Barrels collection.

– Tackling your nemesis exercise – we all have that exercise which is our biggest challenge. I’ll be asking you for that exercise when you confirm your place for the session. If you don’t have one – no problem – I’ll be working through a range of nemesis exercises.

The workshop cost includes drinks and snacks. No lunch will be provided.

I really enjoyed Lisa’s first workshop. Each session was well planned but also felt natural and adaptive to the group. My favourite part was the knee session particularly as Bones got involved! Thanks Lisa, definitely made me more aware of my body and I look forward to the next one.
