Pilates

A keen runner who fell in love with Pilates at a time we all felt the world change during the Pandemic. My body and mind feel incredibly stronger through my practice of Pilates and I want to share my passion and knowledge with everyone that visits my studio, and to all the individuals and sports clubs I now teach. My sessions will be welcoming and provide every body type the opportunity to feel the benefits of Pilates.

My training and expertise

Once I’d qualified with a Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification in June 2022, I didn’t stop there. Ongoing learning and development will always be really important to me, and I’ve spent many hours developing my Pilates knowledge, in addition to completing my training on the large Pilates equipment which includes the Wunda Chair, Tower, Reformer and the Barrels training will be completed in Dec 2024 – seeing me qualified in every piece of classical equipment.

Some of the Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses I’ve completed are; Pilates for children, Pilates foot, Pilates hand, Pilates for the older adult, Pilates for breast cancer, Power of our hands, Pilates small equipment and many more to come.

I also attend the JPilates annual conferences and retreats tailored for Pilates teachers ongoing learning and development, in addition to always delving into the history and original work of Joseph Pilates.

And finally, I have the privilege to work with JPilates graduates twice a year when I work as an assessor and get to assess their teaching skills at the end of their Mat Pilates Diploma qualification.

Lisa has been a fantastic addition to the team at Luton Town FC, for our 2023-2024 premier league campaign. She has provided Pilates support within our physical performance programme which has been designed bespoke and specialised to the athletes and groups she has been working alongside.

My teaching approach

I trained as a Pilates teacher with JPilates. Joanne Cobbe provides research based, high quality face-to-face training and is a leading educator within the industry. Joanne passionately believes in striking a balance between honouring the original Joseph Pilates repertoire and teaching a creative and evolved approach.

Joanne has an incredible community of teachers – where we all talk lots and spend time with each other at conventions, retreats and ongoing CPD sessions. This sense of community is what I bring to my studio and EVERYbody is welcome, from the complete beginner through to people looking for advanced Pilates practice or specific fitness goals.

My group classes have a true sense of community and any new person joining is made to feel incredibly welcome. I also have long standing 1-1 and 1-2 clients who I absolutely love teaching and seeing the progress to hit individual goals. And my work at Luton Town Football club sees me working with an amazing team of medical professionals and sports scientists who are at the top of their game, and every player I work with now embraces Pilates as a key part of injury prevention or injury management.
